Company History

Navigator MSL Ltd was formed following the acquisition of Outokumpu Metal Supplies Ltd (the UK distribution arm of Outokumpu Copper) by Horberg & Co Forvaltnings AB (Sweden) The principle product of Outokumpu was copper tubing and this responsibility has remained with that group under a new structure. The purchased “Metal Supplies Ltd” company, premises and traded products division was then renamed Navigator MSL Ltd as of the official purchase date of 1st July 2006.

Traditionally, the company have been distributors of fittings, valves and accessories the UK and Irish plumbing and heating merchant sector. With a developing European customer base, the company is expanding its product portfolio to enter new sectors such as air conditioning, refrigeration and renewable energy technologies.
The “MSL” in Navigator MSL Limited is kept as a reference to the trading history of the company. Originally incorporated as Maucol in 1946, the company changed it's name to Metal Supplies Ltd in 1958 and the name has been retained in one form or another since.

The company's history has always been one of the manufacture or trading of base metal products. In 1946, the company traded metal ores and rubber commodities. In more recent history, copper and brass finished products have been the key activity. It is this metals history that stands the company in good stead today. Using the incumbent knowledge and contacts gained from sourcing, production and quality control through to the experience of stocking, service and distribution, Navigator has a very solid base on which to grow.
